My name is Jenn, I am the founder of Protégé Creative and it’s sister company Paper Protégé. I founded Paper Protégé in 2016 and have been running it for 6 (nearly 7) years now, and I absolutely love it! It has taught me a ton about what it takes to run a business, the ins and outs, and all the hats that you have to wear as a business owner. Let me tell you it takes CHOPS, so bravo to you (reader) 👏. A little more about me… I studied business management at the University of Toronto, but it wasn’t until I started running my own business that I realized marketing, and more specifically digital marketing was my jam . Posting on socials, learning about the trends, and interacting with an online community was my favourite part of running my business. From here, I took multiple positions in the marketing industry to better hone in on my skills, and learn from others in the digital marketing space. That about catches us up to the present day.

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. 🍋
Social media is all about providing value to your followers and the consumers of your content. Traditional marketing has previously been about constantly ASKING the consumer to answer a call to action. This made sense when we were all relying on print ads, billboards, and tv commercials to sell our product or service. We had one shot to 'WOW' the customer and convince them to buy our product. Now we welcome social media to the playing field. Individuals are on their phones constantly, and content is being consumed hundreds of times a day.
—My philosophy is about giving the consumers value or 'lemons'. Every post gives the consumer a tool, information, or some kind of 'take-away' that validates them following you. These 'lemons' help you build equity amongst your followers. After you've provided your followers with these lemons you can now present your 'ask' and make some lemonade. Social media is today's word of mouth marketing and it's time for your brand to take the step to build your social media presence and start squeezing out those lemons!
